Methane Sulphonic acid catalyzed an efficient synthesis of Schiffs Bases
Abstract
Methane sulphonic acid was found an efficient catalyst for synthesis of Schiff bases. The Schiff bases have been synthesised from condensation reaction between carbonyl compound and primary aromatic amines. The merits of this protocol is simple and inexpensive, biodegradable catalyst, short reaction time, simplicity of the reaction and workup process, high yield of products.
