Anthony Oduro

Anthony Oduro holds an MPhil in Social Work from the University of Ghana Legon. Through selflessness, hard work, dedication, and commitment he was promoted to the coordinator role having served a year as a mentor in the STL Amandi Foundation Goal Project whiles pursuing his undergraduate studies. Anthony Oduro is a teaching and research Assistant, with a good sense of service that makes him one of the best in his field. He demonstrates this by engaging actively in several research projects as a research assistant to date. With his high level of intellect and determination, he was selected for the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship program at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada. Amongst his cohorts, Anthony is highly sought after for his enviable skills and the knowledge he brings to bear from his research experiences. Anthony’s research interest continues to evolve covering the areas of disability studies, social protection, and the general discipline of humanities.

Dr. Efua Esaaba Mantey Agyire-Tettey is a Senior lecturer at the Department of Social Work, University of Ghana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Philosophy in Social Work from the University of Ghana (Legon), a Master’s degree in Conflict, Peace, and Security from KAIPTC, and a Ph.D. from the University of Siegen, Germany. She has many years of experience in research, teaching, and providing services to government and non-government organizations. She has collaborated with universities abroad as the lead researcher. Her areas of specialty in research include disability issues, social protection, family welfare, human rights, violence, and conflict management. She has been part of the Centre for Environmental Research Policy Analysis (CERPA) as a senior research advisor. She is also the Ghanaian coordinator of LICOT-WASO. Dr. Agyire-Tettey has experience and interest in health and gender issues and the general discipline of humanities. She has been an affiliate of the Centre for Gender and Advocacy Studies (CEGENSA) at the University of Ghana. She is a strong advocate for vulnerable people in society and she finds space for fostering community awareness campaigns and environmental education in Ghana.

Dr. Augustina Naami is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of the Department of Social Work at the University of Ghana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor in French from the University of Ghana. She obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees in Social Work from the Universities of Chicago and Utah, respectively both in the United States of America. Dr. Augustina Naami has a distinguished track record of scholarship in teaching, research, and extension service. She teaches a range of areas in the field of Social Work, at the undergraduate graduate and Ph.D. levels at the Accra Main and City campuses of the University of Ghana. Her research focuses on disability, mental health, the intersection of vulnerabilities, gender, social policy, and poverty. Dr. Naami has published extensively, in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. She has also published an evidence-based manual that bridges the gap between research and practice and lays out step-by-step actions of how access barriers for persons with disabilities could be addressed. Dr. Naami’s paper, disability, gender, and employment relationships in Africa: The Case of Ghana, won The Tanis Doe Prize for the best poster. Her scholarly work was rewarded at the Society for Disability Studies Annual Conference held at the Regency Hotel, Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 2014.
