Abstract

Dielectrophoretic chip is works on the principle of dielectrophoresis, designed by Comsol Multiphysics 4.0 software which had three dimensional microstructure and electrodes. It is used for design of this triple-layer electrodes hole-type Dielectrophoretic chip. In this design bottom top electrode is made of ITO glass, gold middle electrodes and SU-8. Inlet and outlet are present at the top electrode whereas the four holes in the middle microstructure generate the dielectrophoretic force via voltage application. Dielectrophoretic chip can be used for separation of DNA strand, nanoparticles along with separation, focussing, manipulation and sorting of cells. Further simulation and analysis of magnitude of the electrical field and direction of DEP forces by Comsol Multiphysics 4.0 need to be done.
